Y mainly coconut and banana are offered in Temples?

While visiting Temples we generally takes fruits to offer god. Coconut and Banana are the only two fruits in this world which are considered to be “Sacred fruits”. All other fruits are considered tainted fruits (partially eaten fruits). For example, the apple tree grows from the seed of another eaten fruit and that fruit is treated as tainted.

In the case of coconut and banana, the shell or the sleeves is not used for anything. To grow a coconut tree, you have to sow the entire coconut itself and Banana tree grows with the sapling. This is the reason why Coconut and Banana has an important place in all religious activities.

Y to touch feet of elders?

We Indians believe that when a person bows down and touches the feet of our elders, their ego gets suppressed as this gesture indicates respecting the age, experience, achievements and wisdom of the person whose feet are being touched.

The act of padasparshan (touching the feet) has a profound scientific reason. The nerves in the human body, starting from our brain, spread all over our body and end at our fingertips and toes. While doing padasparshan, when the fingertips of your hand are joined to the feet of the opposite person, a closed circuit is established between the two immediately and the energies of your bodies are connected – your fingers and hands become the receptor of that energy, while the feet of the elder person become the giver of the energy. When the elder accepts this respect, their heart becomes filled with good thoughts and positive energy, which they give out through their hands and feet.

Health benefits of Touching feet.

There are generally 3 ways of touching the feet as said by Indian scholars and each methods have thier own benefits.

1. While bending forward to touch feet, your back and waist are stretched. It is helpful in back pain.

2. When you sit on your knees and then touch the feet of an elder, your knees are bent and all of the joints in your body are stretched, which relieves you from joint pain.

3. While engaging Sashtang Pranam, your entire body stretches and body pain is cured.

So that’s all for today, Keep showing respect for elders and gets benefitted in your health. It’s a win win , nothing to lose in it .

Y Tilak is applied on forehead?

The tilak is of great spiritual significance to Hindus. Applied on the forehead between the brows, it is a point of immense power and piety. The spot where the bindi is applied is where the body’s most important chakra rests — the Ajna chakra.

As the centre of all cosmic energy, this pivotal spot is known as guru sthan, site. Our consciousness resides here; it is also the dwelling place of our mind. Our entire body is controlled from here. During yoga meditation, the mind is centred at this dhyan chakra. The dhyan chakra represents our subconscious mind and all our teeming thoughts. Focusing our attention on the ajna chakra has a restful effect on the mind. Because of all these reasons, great sanctity is attached to this spot on the forehead and the tilak, bindi or tika is rightfully applied here. Also, a tilak of chandan, sandalwood paste, has an immediate calming effect. Thus spiritual masters initiate new seekers into the fold by applying tilak, invoking and awakening the divine light within. Without a guru, one may not have this subtle experience. Yet, such is the power of this auspicious spot that even a restless mind can be trained to relax, simply by focusing on the Ajna chakra. You cannot bring the mind to a tranquil state just by applying tilak. But the tilak is a medium. It is a point of focus from where you can tap the incredible powers of the Ajna chakra.

Ok that’s all for today, hope you all came to know about the importance of Tilak.

Every Why has a Answer!!!!

Good morning Dear All,

We as a society, especially Hindu society, moving farther from our culture.

It’s not that people have become atheist.People do believe and have faith in God.

People worships and visit the Temples on a regular basis and It’s good for society .

But what about next generation and next to next generation, are they will be doing same?

I believe that most of the people are educated and have became rational .

And that is the reason they had started questioning about the rituals and doings.

And here is when knowledge comes into picture .It is the responsibility of the the predecessors to pass on the knowledge about Dharma , culture, etc to the successors.

I have a strong belief that every rituals, habits, teachings of our culture has a scientific background. Our ancient science was the hub of knowledge, whether u look into the literature, Astrology, Medicine, Mathematics,Ayurveda etc.

The greatest example of which can be experienced in current scenario over covid-19 , Peoples are avoiding handshakes, instead they are doing namaste. This is one of the teachings of our ancient culture.

This blog will consist of the general practice we do in our daily lives and the science behind those practices,so that u know and learn ,and pass it on so that our next race will feel proud of those religion and culture.

Thanks
